Fernox Power flushing is the fastest and most efficient way of cleaning your central heating system. A power flushing unit is connected to the heating circuit in place of the central heating pump or to a radiator and then a powerful fresh water flow together with Fernox power flushing chemicals will thoroughly cleanse the heating system, removing all the sludge & limescale from the radiators, boiler and pipe work. The flushing procedure usually takes 5-6 hours depending on the size of the building and depending on how many many radiators there are. After the all the debris have been removed Fernox Central Heating Protector is added to the system to protect the heating system from long term corrosion damage.

The Fernox Power flushing process usually takes between 3 & 6 hours. Magnetic filters can be added to the system to help keep the system clean after the power flush

Common signs for a power flush

One of the most common signs that show you need a power flushing procedure for your central heating system is cold spots.If your system has certain cold spots or is cold at the bottom it indicates that you need power flushing.

The typical power flush procedure:

• Hire a power flush
• Isolate your power supply to the system
• Keep the Earth continuity bond intact
• Close isolating pipes on either side of your heating pump
• Remove the pump from the system
• Connect your power flush
• Ensure your dumping hose goes to the right drain
• Add your cleaning fluid to the power flush
• Switch on the power flush
• Turn on the boiler and turn it off when the water temperature reaches 45 degrees.
• Repeat every 10 minutes
• You can also use a corrosion inhibitor
• Once you are done, disconnect everything one by one and connect the main system as it was before.
